The Hudson County Bar Association 123rd President! Jonathan Koles is the managing partner of Koles, Burke & Bustillo, LLP, with offices located in Jersey City, New York City and Bayonne. He earned his B.A. from Rutgers College in 1978 and his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law in 1981. He was admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York in 1981, the Federal Bars of the District of New Jersey, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1982, the Second Circuit in 1998 and the United States Supreme Court in 2014.
He has been a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice Board of Governors since 1994 and was President during 2009-2010. He is a past NJAJ PAC Chairman. He has been a master in the Hudson and Essex County Inns of Court. He has moderated and spoke at several continuing legal education seminars for NJAJ, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Hudson County Bar Association. He is currently the President-Elect of the Hudson County Bar Association, to be installed as President in January of 2017.
He works primarily in plaintiff’s personal injury actions, including motor vehicle accidents and premises liability cases, but also works on products liability, professional negligence and business litigation. He was lead counsel to over 1,100 claimants in a consumer fraud class action and have been local counsel in other class action products liability actions.
