Our Mission

The Hudson County Bar Association mission is to promote professionalism and camaraderie within the legal community, aid in the administration of justice, provide access to justice to people of all backgrounds, educate our members and the public on law and legal issues, and to build bridges and extend outreach to protect the community at large. We strive to accomplish these goals in our organization through our various committees, sections, divisions, community programs, educational programs, and social events.

Welcome to the Hudson County Bar Association

The Hudson County Bar Association was founded in 1877 as a nonprofit professional organization for attorneys. We are conveniently located in the historic Justice William Brennan Courthouse, 583 Newark Avenue, 4th floor, Jersey City, NJ.

The Hudson County Bar Association mission is to promote a professional and legal camaraderie within the legal community, to aid in the administration of justice, to enhance the delivery of and access to quality legal services, to educate the public about the legal system, and to actively participate in the success of the community at large. We strive to accomplish these goals through our numerous active committees, sections, divisions and community programs as well as educational programs provided for and by our members, along with a variety of social events.

Hudson County Bar Foundation

The Hudson County Bar Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) (3) entity organized under the state of New Jersey. It was established in November of 1962.

It was organized to preserve the honor and integrity of law by funding, developing and otherwise promoting efforts which enhance the legal profession; increase public understanding of the legal system; study, improve and facilitate the administration of justice. In conjunction with the Hudson County Bar Association, the Foundation offers numerous educational seminars for attorneys and Law Day programs for the public.

In furtherance of those principles the Hudson County Bar Foundation has established a law student scholarship program, it is one of the oldest law school scholarships in the county, awarding scholarships to deserving law students for over 50 years.
